Title: Purple majesty
Post by: mseawell on February 22, 2016, 07:46:26 pm
Dusk arrives. soft as a gentle breeze upon the land. The mountains glow with  the fading light of the day an humming one last song...purple majesty.

Really nice. I especially like the splashes of color on the peaks. Composition works very nicely too.

Something doesn't quite fit for me here.  I think I don't feel like I'm being drawn in, but it's a beautiful image so I find this confusing. I like the detail of the trees, but perhaps the slope of the frame is throwing me off?  Perhaps try a 10/5 crop taking out some of the slope and drawing me more into the interesting part which to me is the clouds, alpine glow, and trees?  I'm not sure the crop is compelling for me personally either, but everyone else seems to like it as is, so don't listen to me.

Thanks for all the comments! Truth to tell I'm still fiddling with this image! ;) The fun never stops!

Have to agree with the critique.

Before I read this critique, my own comment would have been, "Beautiful scene, colors, but I would have taken 3 steps forward and not included so much of the foreground."

What a beautiful scene, well captured and processed. Purple majesty indeed!
