Title: Thoughts on the old PENTAX-A 45-85mm?

Is the Pentax A (not FA) 45-85mm zoom worth buying. Lots of cheap options on KEH at the moment.

Aloha,
I have the FA version, which is excellent.
I would rate it a must have for the system.
I would guess the manual version is just as nice, but why not just get the FA?

Thanks! I can't afford the FA. Actually, it's not for the 645Z, it's to adapt with the D800.
