Title: Which camera for long exposures?
Post by: stider on January 19, 2016, 10:41:26 pm
I have a 5DMKII and a 1DSMKIII. I plan on leaving one of them doing long exposures/time lapses, while a do faster hand shooting with the other one. Any suggestions which camera I should use for these tasks?

I am a Nikon guy, but just looking at the situation, I would suspect the 1DS would be better at both!  That said, the question is really how to deplore these two cameras to best advantage?  To me you need to answer 2 questions.  First, can the 5DmkII perform the handheld tasks up to your minimum standards?  Second, which camera gives better long exposure images with less noise and artifacts?  A simple test should suffice.
