Title: Sample of a scanner profile made using the transparency Hutch Color target
Post by: A.K.A. Armando on January 11, 2016, 09:45:17 am
Hi guys,
I am looking for a sample of a scanner profile made using the transparency Hutch Color target. I am trying to compare it to others made with the IT8.
The scanner model is not important or needed.
Thanks!
Armando

Normally, the scanner would be front and center because it is the device being profiled. Likewise the software used to create the profile once the target is read. What specifically are you trying to accomplish?

Armando,

Scans and profile from Hutch target, Howtek 4500 (modified), DPL Pro, using the highest quality on Argyl. Both linear and log scans are included.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Mark - I want to compare the profiles in a 3D gamut viewer app and see the shape.

Andy - Thanks! - That's what I was looking for.

Different scanners have different DMax and different gamut capabilities, so to make a valid comparison of the how different targets perform in their own right, you need to neutralize all variables except the target, which means using the same scanner for generating the profiles from the different targets, and ideally, though perhaps not always feasible, the same profile making software, because the math may differ between software versions.

Thanks Mark, I ordered a Hutch target and see what happens.
