Merit?

Very satisfying image. Lines, textures, balance, and the painted phone number to add a sense of mystery.

Have you rung it, stamper?

Outstanding, in my view. Love it.

What Eric said. Terrific.

Merit?
Yes. Plenty.

I like it. Bikes are a favorite subject (and are favorite objects) and the B&W looks great. My only nit is the top seems just a little cramped and I wish that clay roof gutter wasn't cut off. A very slight tilt upward (or slightly different crop) might be better, depending on what distractions may lie up there.

There is plenty of aesthetic merit here (see the various comments) but this image has amazing, if somewhat enigmatic, storytelling potential.
One could almost create a plot for a novel from the wonderful visual cues that are present.

Book cover!
I'd definitely want to read a novel that had this cover.

There was clutter at the top so a crop had to be made somewhere. I was going to crop the dark area at the left but when I tried it an unbalance became apparent. Ironically this peaceful scene is a few yards from a busy street so it isn't really idyllic as it looks. Thanks for the feedback.

I understand. Still a very nice shot I came back to look at again.
