Title: invert mask not working?
Post by: sgwrx on December 27, 2015, 09:06:37 pm
hello, i created a mask of the land below a sky.  it's opacity was around 30%.  i created a new local adj layer on top of it, selected copy mask from layer 1, then inverted the mask.  the whole image is then masked and there doesn't appear to be more or less mask opacity, in otherwords it all seems like an even opacity.

i tested on another image, simply drew a 30% opacity circle mask in the middle of it, inverted and it behaved like you think it would, the red circle turned light and the rest of the image became masked.

i also tested on a third image using the gradient mask, then inverting it on a new layer above, it worked as expected again.

is it possible that "automask" messed this up on my original image, i believe that was checked when i drew the mask on layer 1.

thank you,

well what do you know, it's working now... i deleted the layers and tried again - 3rd time's a charm!
