Title: C1 Wish List.......................!
Post by: Dinarius on December 15, 2015, 03:01:27 am
A choice of sample size for every color picker or, at the very least, the Color Tool Advanced Tab color picker.

I'd like........

1x1 pixels
3x3 "
5x5 "
10x10 "

Thanks.

D.

Hi D.,

That could be useful, it could also be implemented by dragging a (readjustable) rectangle (or circle) over a region with the mouse/pen pointer. A Mean or Median score would probably be the obvious result, because otherwise multiple colors could need multiple color selections instead if one central color, and that's not how the tool functions.

Cheers,
Bart

A working catalog.

A working catalog.
a Media Pro 2 with real enhancements. ( not just a new colorscheme)

Now THAT would solve many problems.
C1 in Sessions is fine, the catalog is absolute garbage.

right, this is how this is done in RPP or for WB selection in ACR... trying to set WB in C1 is a major hassle, because it does not allow to select a sufficiently big area (more than a pixel ?) to average....

Hi,

I'm not sure if the White Balance picker works the same as the Color picker, maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. Some software uses the average of multiple pixels when zoomed out ...

Some software uses the average of multiple pixels when zoomed out ...

that is how ACR used (zoom it out & click with pipette) to work till Adobe developers saw the light and implemented a simple selection of rectangular area to average for WB... may be ACR still supports that legacy mode along with a proper way to set WB... RPP did a step futher - you can have color readout averaged over the area just like WB (granted RPP supports only one color readout at a time, but the concept is better - not always I want to deal with a single pixel...

one more issue with C1 - if I use autowb w/o clicking anywhere it does not pay attention to the current crop... still uses the whole image frame... otherwise that will be a primitive workaround  ;D

I remember an application called Corel Draw. In version 9 you had the option of changing all the functioning interface to mimic Adobe Illustrator :-)
What would be the chances of such a interpretation for C1 to take on LR or even photoshop like tools interface?

I know zero to none, right? :-)

And, in my opinion, just as well. :)

Already done Phil...

http://blog.phaseone.com/3-steps-to-an-easy-switch-from-lightroom-to-capture-one/

Bob created a workspace and shortcuts that he felt eased the transition from  LR to Capture One.

Important to note that Capture One is not Lightroom and vice versa.  Trying to mimic perfectly is never going to be possible and to be honest, not what I would want either.

Black Point Compensation for all profiles (preferably selectable in the prefs).
Right now BPC is only implemented when the output profile is matrix based.
But when you are embedding the (table based) input profile (a workflow recommended by Phase One!) there's no BPC for the translation to the monitor profile. Therefore blacks may be clipped in the preview on the monitor (depending on the black point of your monitor).

When was this? It always had at least one default session in order to open...

Easier to handle controls.

Many of the tools on the left are very small. I appreciate minimalism, but sometimes it looks a little too sparse.

text fields are ultra small on my 27" monitor.

+1  As I get older the print and icons get smaller.  It would be nice if Phase offered at least S M L options.

One thing I’d hope for is better performance. For some reason, C1 can start off acceptably fast when processing an image for preview, but after a while I can be sitting there staring at the spinner for up to 30 seconds waiting for the preview to update. It gets even worse if the image is rotated or has keystone adjustments applied. I realise I can’t expect much from my 2010 low-end MacBook Pro, but both Aperture and Lightroom are significantly better in this regard.

I've seen some slowing down after running CO for a while that I'm wonder if has to do with memory use of some internal problems. Does it seem faster for you if you quit CO and start it right back up to do the same task?

I've taken to shutting down after a few minutes operations and restarting for any major operation. C1 seems to have a problem with memory management. I would love to have a look at their source code.
