I just received an email from my local Ricoh/Pentax dealer.

A new tether plug in for the 645z - good news.

I'm playing with it, kinda limited in that it can't control the Pentax.  But it's free...  My MBP only has USB2 and I can see the difference between the onboard and the TB-USB3 adapter in the transfer speed.
