Title: Albumin prints at Monet show at National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa)
Post by: Robert Roaldi on December 09, 2015, 09:25:18 am
Accompanying the current Monet exhibit at the National Gallery in Ottawa is a set of albumin prints showing the destruction in Paris and Argenteuil from just after the Franco-Prussian war. I didn't write down the photographer's name but he was a fine craftsman. I know nothing about the albumin process, but the prints were excellent, aside from their historical interest.

At a guess, I'd say it's made from eggs! Helluva way to cook up an image.
