I've recently acquired a Phase one P45 back (V-mount) with a Lightphase adapter to mount it on my RZ67 Pro II. See attached.
However, I can't rotate the back into portrait mode, despite the switch being in the 'R' position. Is there something else I'm missing, or can I not rotate the back with this setup? Surely that would be silly...

With a V-mount Phase One back on an RZ you rotate the BACK not the adapter.

You need to unlock and relock the 2 "teeth" in the orientation you need to shoot in.
The back doesn't work like the film holders. I have my setup closed in a case, but I'm pretty sure this is the way it works.
