Title: Wireless remote issue is making me crazy. Help
Post by: Mjollnir on November 18, 2015, 09:57:43 pm
There's got to be a setting that I'm missing or something.

A.  Panasonic GH4
B.  I have two different wireless remotes, both of which are functioning, but when either is attached to the camera the trigger is pushed, it doesn't lock focus.  Nothing.  Nada.
C.  They used to work just fine, and (AFAIK) haven't changed any settings.
D.  A wired remote I have works just fine and dandy.

Is this perhaps a bad port (although I don't see how)?  Malfunctioning hot shoe?  Giant space weasels?

This is driving me absolutely bonkers, so thanks in advance.

Just for the sake of others with potentially the same problem, I fixed it.

I threw out my old wireless rig because, after two years, Milo, our new kitten, had eaten through the wire that goes between the receiving unit and the camera.

W/the new one, there was NOTHING in the Chinese/English menu about which heads of the cable went into which ports.  I finally tried reversing how I had it and *presto*, we have a fully functioning unit now.

Yay.
