The sense of scale, if not quietude, would be enhanced by some toy cars in the parking lot.

Jeremy, those things in the lower right are what pass for trees in that part of the country.

The colors are nice, Jeremy, but something about composition bothers me. Central placement of the most interesting rock? Too much space around? I do not know. Strangely enough, central placement seems to work better in panoramic compositions, perhaps like this:

I agree that removing the foreground improves it.
There's plenty to play with to the sides, as it happens: I didn't have enough time to change lenses, so I zoomed in as much as I could with my 24-105.

Thanks. And your suspicion that it's not the Lake District is, of course, spot on. I really should go there more often: it's a lot closer to me than Arizona.
