Jim Kasson has just posted the reason behind his recent absence from both his blog and Lula in 'Why the hiatus?' (http://blog.kasson.com/?p=12206).
I'm sure many on Lula will want to join me in wishing Jim a full and rapid recovery.
All the best, Jim, wishing you all the best and as quick and painless a convalescence as possible.

P.S.
(and again, a heartfelt thank you, you really shouldn't have ..)

Yes indeed!
My dad's last doctor had brain surgery c. 2002 and had to go on hiatus for ~8 months afterward due to post-operation paralysis. He later told my dad he spent more than half that time playing golf 3–4 times a week to "get his coordination back." :)

Yes,
Sad to hear about Jim having surgery but hoping for a full and rapid recovery! I would also like to thank Jim for keeping us informed.
Best regards
Erik

Jim,
Wishing all the best and hoping for you quick recovery

To Jim,
I hope you have a complete recovery from this bad episode in your life. The rate of progress looks promising, but be prepared for some slow-downs along the way as well, despite the training. It's the end result that counts, and the most menacing part seems to be fixed.
Cheers,
Bart

I am deeply touched by all the comments and good wishes. Thank you, everybody.
One of the consequences of the type of surgery that I had is a constellation of symptoms similar to those from a severe concussion. I'll be limited in what I have the energy to post for a while, but please know how grateful I am for your encouraging words.

Hi,
Jim just posted a very nice landscape shot taken "post op". A very good picture.
I certainly hope Jim has a full and rapid recovery, but having him shooting and processing is great news.
