Title: Problem with Sony A7r ii and Canon 16-35mm F4 in manual focus
Post by: derAngler on October 21, 2015, 01:39:38 pm
Hello,

when I want to use the manual focus magnification by pressing the C3 button I get the following error message: "invalid with this lens". I use the Canon 16-35mm f4 in combination with a Metabones Mark IV adapter. Firmware on the adapter is version 0.45 and on the camera 2.0. Can anyone confirm this problem? With my old Sony A7r I never had this problem before and I was using a whole bunch of Canon lenses with it and also the 16-35mm.
Any help is highly appreciated. If this combination doesn't work in manual focus I will most likely send back the camera, as I am doing landscape and architecture for most of the time.

Ok, I found the solution. You have to go in the button configuration menu and put the focus magnification on the desired button. Before it was set to focus mode instead. I hope this will help others with the same problem.
