I wasn't sure about this one. My wife, who is pretty dismissive of all but a few of my photos, saw it on the monitor and said, spontaneously, that she liked it.

Thoughts?

The railing or something else in the bottom right corner isn't much of a problem, but I think moving the center the smidgen to the left that trimming the right side until it is gone does good things for the composition and pushes the battle between light and darkness in the right or is it left direction.

Really fantastic subject.  Maybe bring up exp. in deep shadows or overall exp.I would also look at increasing saturation a bit in reddish/brown and green tones...and maybe bringing up luminance in same. Wonderful to see the glassy quality of the water represented. /B

The first one below is the original, reworked a little as suggested. The second and third are the same scene but with shorter and longer exposures. I thought the one I originally posted was probably the optimum: what do you think?

Your wife was right, Jeremy. The first one was fine. You framed it on the camera. Your framing was good. Whey does everybody think you have to dork around with a picture to "improve' it before it's worthwhile?
