Welcome back Rob, I knew you were lurking here occasionally but it's great to read what you have to say again.
But why that thread ???
Btw, you probably noticed that "without prejudice" is still going 8)

tom b, pegelli,
Hi,
Thanks, but yeah, I got pissed off with stupid and unpleasant anti-pro sentiment being expressed at the time, so decided to eff off and give them peace.
Why did I choose 'that thread' is the wrong question: it chose me; I wasn't aware of any particular desire to return, but did realise that much baby had gone out with my bathwater. I was looking briefly at the site on the cellphone during the space between courses at a restaurant I frequent for inexpensive lunches, and drifted onto the topic in all innocence. However, something in the mindset I found just annoyed the hell out of me in its stupidity and voluntary blindness, so I felt obliged to chip in with a simple solution to the auto-exposure 'problem' of which I can't say I've personally found much evidence; most camera eff-ups I've encountered have been my own fault, not that of the equipment. So anyway, here I am.
So far, so good!
;-)

That's why I might have to pass the hat: the VAT man might think of that too.
Thanks for the greeting!

Yes, welcome back. And only a couple of days after I'd commented (http://forum.luminous-landscape.com/index.php?topic=75820.msg846711#msg846711) on how nice it would be to hear from you again.

Hi Rob,
Welcome back, missed your interesting posts.
Best regards,

Thanks, Nick - but don't hold your breath: circumstances create 'interesting' and not much seems to happen these days. I used to dread such periods of calm, but now I look on them as good omens, and feel lucky!

Me, too, Rob. Great to hear from you again.
I hope Ms. Coke is doing well, too.

She was feeling a bit daring a week or so ago... in a gloomy sort of way; probably mammaries memories of past glories.
Thanks for the ¡hello!

To me he looks a little excited ;-)
Dammit! Must have been using the wrong piece of glass! Wonderful what a little lowering of the blinds can do for a girl of a hot afternoon siesta... even fooled me!
Oh no! Just thought: maybe one of Ray's transvesties got into the act? I seek ablution! Or do I mean absolution?

Welcome back, glad to read you again!

Hey, hombre!
I was just thinking about you the other day because of the Samsung tv!
Telefonica is doing some renovations around here with cable etc. and sent a movil message telling me to keep the router switched on all the time so that these can all go ahead. That was weeks and weeks ago, and worried about overheating (not to mention electricity bills) I switched off. They must be spying on me: within a few days I got another message telling me to stay switched on.
I have no intention of paying more for cable - it already costs enough with the ordinary Fusion TV deal! I also suspect that once cable is everywhere, they will decide to switch all of the rest of us onto it just to simplify life for themselves, at no extra subscription cost... I hope.
Thank you for the welcome!
Rob
P.S. I haven't been back on the ferry and facing that roundabout again - unfortunately.

Movistar has a great interest in moving everyone from ADSL to cable, so they have decided to keep the same prices, even if cable is at least ten times faster than ADSL. However, once they install cable, they also remove the old telephone wire, and you have to keep your router switched on all day... unless you can live without a phone).
Feel free to PM if you need any hep.

Hi!
Just realised: instead of keeping just the router switched on, I also thought that I had to keep the additional set-top box (decoder?) on too. That's not part of the router, so I suppose I can switch that off right now and only turn it on when I watch relevant programmes.
Let's see if I get another Telefonica text for this posible offence...
Anyway, I will stay unsubscribed to the cable thing they offer, and wait to see where that leaves me when the telephone line is removed. I'm sure they won't want to lose what they already get from me and so many others.
Ciao,
Rob
