Forget the quality of the posted image. My problem was that I've misplaced the spacer plate. Thirty dollars for a piece of metal with a hole to take a quarter inch whitworth thread.

Three dollars for some neoprene did the trick, now I am, "As happy as Larry (http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/as-happy-as-larry.html)".
