The first one taken at a canal on my family's ranch, just at dawn, the second taken on a road across the highway a few minutes later. The last one I've posted before, but for reference, the windmill in the black and white one is the same one, taken at almost the same time, as the windmill in the second one at the far right of the frame.

#1 is good, #3 is unbelievably good, as I said before.
-
Thanks! Still amazed at the results that come out of that teensy sensor.

Slobodan is right (as usual).
-
what Slobodan said +1

Excellent images. In #1, I just think that either the sun is fully in the image, or leave it outside?
-
Number 3 is superb
-
#3 is my favorite, it's a very powerful image. Paulo has a point regarding the first photo.

Yes a crop would improve what is potentially a fine image. I think #2 lacks impact and three has been universally acclaimed as being a very fine image.

+1. It seems Slobodan and I see things similar! :-)
-
Lovely work. Each of them stand on their own merits.
-
The first two are splendid and convey the mood.

For what its worth! ...
- #1 doesn't do much for me (sorry) - perhaps I'm feeling some dissonance from the mis-shapen tree on the right hand side
- #2 I really like - it really captures the feel of a moody morning
- I like #3 very much also - just great
Seems like #2 and #3 would look great as large prints on a sparse wall to emphasize the "expanse" in both images.

Wonderful work

Thank you for sharing - wonderful work. Is the first photo of the Merced River? I live in El Portal off HWY 140 and enjoy driving back to see my family in the Bay Area on just secondary roads until I hit HWY 580. River road is one of my favorites.

Thanks for asking. It's actually a major irrigation canal off of Snelling Road at one of the entrances to my family's ranch. The Merced River actually goes through the property, but, not being much of a wildlife photographer, my shooting down by the river mostly involves wild pigs and dinner ;-)
