Title: LR catalog optimization > 1 hour?

Is it right to take this long? To be sure, I just deleted ~6000 of the 27,000 photos in the catalog, so there's a lot to do, but still ....

How big is the unzipped catalog?  Is it on a slow drive?

My catalog is 1.48 GB before zipping and it takes about 5-10 min to optimize although I really haven't timed it.
