Yep (even if I say so myself) however, ACR/LR has progressed considerably. I use ACR/LR for capture sharpening and output sharpening. I really only go to Photoshop for creative sharpening (which is included in the book).

The Digital Negative (http://www.amazon.com/The-Digital-Negative-Processing-Lightroom/dp/0321839579/ref=zg_bs_132567011_2)...might want to wait until the 2nd edition (http://www.amazon.com/The-Digital-Negative-Processing-Lightroom/dp/0134033175/ref=pd_sim_14_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=0ADAFQPWQD61PTNE7XZV) is out.
It's done...just going through production, should be out in early Sept.

As far as I know, it is the best book on the subject that is directed to working practical photographers as contrasted to PhDs in digital image processing. However, I would like to see some coverage of deconvolution algorithms (e.g. van Cittert, Lucy-Richardson, and adaptive Lucy-Richardson) as well as non-Adobe commercial products such as Focus-Magic, Topaz InFocus, and Topaz Detail 3. These products favorites of our own forum contributor Bart Vanderwolf. The book does cover the old version of Adobe Smart Sharpen, but the authors are not enthusiastic about this product.

Has the current version of Smart Sharpen been discussed on the forum? I'm no expert but it seems pretty good these days.

I bought Real World Image Sharpening several years ago and have to admit when I first read it I thought, "You have to go through all these steps just to sharpening and image? This is bull***t". But then, after trying just Smart Sharpen and Reduce Noise for a while I revisited the techniques, built the actions, and saw how you could get superior results.
My only problem was, using Photoshop Elements which doesn't support the Fade command or Calculations in actions, some of the techniques in the book didn't work for me. Jeff Schewe had a paper on the PixelGenius site however, with a slightly different routine, sans fade and calculations, which did work fine.
