Title: Problems loading LuLa home page on Android
Post by: churly on July 08, 2015, 10:34:43 am
Hi,
I'm still having problems with the front page loading on all of my Andoid devices.  I tried flushing the cache etc. but no luck.  It loads fine on my Windows desktop.
Best, Chuck

We have tested on Android and for us it works fine but since there are literally thousands of software/hardware combos, can you tell us what specific device you are  using and if there are any error messages?

Hi Chris,
Interesting, it must be something on my end.  I've tried with Chrome on my Sony Xperia Z3, my Nexus 7 and an old Sony S1.  The error is the 404 'not found' error.

Hmm - just tried it again and all is well.  I must not have been clearing the cache properly.

Best,
Chuck

There was definitely a short period yesterday when many of us were getting that 404 message.

I don't think it was Android specific but a problem on our server. Apologies.

I had the same problem with Safari on my iPad. Solved it by deleting & recreating the LuLa bookmark.

This is an ongoing problem that started a week or two ago.

If you hit the main page from the outside you often get the 404 error.

If you navigate to the main page from the forums it works fine.

Happens on both Windows and Android.

If you post a new main page article it works fine for a day or so then the 404 error appears again.

Good luck finding the ghost.

But it is not something that is fixed.

I just got a 404 error 5 minutes ago which is why I posted this.

I'm coming from multiple service providers and computers.

Strange as all our test machines are working fine with different browsers.  Are you accessing the site by going to a bookmark?  If so delete the bookmark and then create a new one.  Also, what OS and type of machine as well as browser is showing this error.  A few days ago we had a problem when doing some updates but it was all worked out.  Let us know your results and also what part of the world you are accessing from.  All this helps our guys track something down, especially when we are not seeing it on our systems.

Thanks for your help.

I was getting the 404 after midnight Thursday on my Mac Air and Safari, but I erased the bookmark, navigated to Lula through Google, created another bookmark, and I'm good.

Not sure why we are seeing so many bookmark errors, but we have our web guys looking at this.  I had to reset my bookmarks on my iPad too.  I have seen this on some other sites too lately.

Title: Re: Problems loading LuLa home page on Android connection information

I have been using a book mark.

But even if I type http://www.luminous-landscape.com in the url I get the error.

I'm using IE but I think I get the same problem when using Chrome or Firefox. I can double check on that.

Windows 7 Pro 64 on two different machines.

Same problem on Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note Pro.

I'm connecting from Southern California.

But I have 3 service providers I can go through and it happens on all of them.

I also often get a secure only content is displayed message on IE.

All of this was fine until a couple of weeks ago.

And as I said before, if I hop into the forums and then go to the home page it is fine.

So I'm suspecting some quirkiness is going on on your server.

Hope this information helps.
