Title: Epson 3880 default Network setting
Post by: greyscale on July 06, 2015, 12:44:41 pm
Am wondering If it is just mine, or all 3880 default to the network disabled upon power on?. Drives me nuts, I always have to remember to ENABLE the network on the top panel.  I have assigned the printer a static address hoping this would change the network to remain ENABLED, but still have to Enable on the panel.
FWIW, I do power off the unit in order to protect it from summer storm power outages and sags.

PS: does the P800 behave this way????

My 3800 and 3880 both power up w/ network *enabled* as they should.

You either have a weird unit or not setting/saving the enable state correctly.

I have two network attached 3880s, and have never looked at the network settings. They just came up via DHCP and never missed a beat.

Never had a problem with mine. Although it is very rare that it is powered down, when it does power up it has no problem with its static IP address.

Finally, figured the (perceived) problem.  Reading the Epson Network Guide, Specifically, Steps 13, 14 and 15. Now the 3880 powers on with the correct Ip address every time.
