Title: Fotodiox and Fuji
Post by: drmike on July 06, 2015, 07:18:27 am
Has anyone any experience with one of these?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fotodiox-Adapter-Pentax-Fujifilm-X-Mount/dp/B00YQCWQLO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1436181245&sr=8-3&keywords=fotodiox+fuji+shift

I have an X-Pro and I'd quite like a shift lens. Well in truth a tilt shift but that won't happen. I have some old Pentax K mount FF lenses that ought to be suitable.

Any help would be welcome.

Mike

Hi Mike,

While I haven't used the particular Fotodiox adapter you linked to, I did spend some time using a Kiron T/S adapter (the rip-off of the Mirex design) on a Sony NEX-7. I was primarily adapting a 55mm Micro-Nikkor to the camera for macro work.

I found the shift generally useful. The tilt worked easily at landscape distances, however at macro distances applying tilt also indirectly caused significant  fall which I found incredibly frustrating. (I ended up ditching the adapter for a Kenlock bellows for macro work. And now that I'm no longer doing this kind of work, I'm getting rid of the bellows, too.)

I posted about my experience using the adapter on my blog: http://www.michaelmeyerphoto.com/daily_up/review-kipon-tilt-shift-adapter-nikon-to-nex/.
