Title: Apo Digitar 47mm XL Flange focal distance

Hello,
does anybody know the right flange focal distance of a Schneider Kreuznach APO Digitar 47mm XL f5.6?I have searched the Internet and i get different distances. One is 50mm an other is 59.1mm...What is right? Thank you.

I would say 50, but take a look on Schneider website:

Hello Roman,
This means the distance between the back of the Copal shutter to the film plane?
But my lens is not sharp. I will search the mistake....

Yes. I tested my both 47 mm, on my arca and cambo wrs: exacktly 50 mm. The 59 mm has maybe the s.angulon xl 120 degree 47 mm, that is a different design. Why is your Lens mit Sharp? Tell me more about your system so maybe i can find the solution

Hi Roman,
I have measured the distance from the back of the Copal shutter to the ground glass of my Cambo WRS. I hold the lens with no mount only with my fingers. And the distance if the picture on the glass is something about 69 mm!!! I don't understand this..
And I have the xl 47mm!!!! ???

Hi-

According to the Schneider literature the 47XL has a Focal Flange distance of 52.3mm for the Schneider electronic shutter 0.  Copal 0 shutters are .3mm closer to the film plane so it should be 52mm.

I found out that the Super Angulon XL 47 mm have 59 mm distance. So  cambo will habe two 47 mm mounts: one 47 mm for the analoge 47xl and one for the 47 Digitar. they will use the same focusing mount but different spacer. So maybe you mounted your Digitar 47 mm on the old 47 mm cambo mount?

The procedure was to hold the lens in front of a glass and measure. The measurement was not very good but I could see that it is more than 50 mm.

do you  know that when you measure you must  focus on infinity: the flag distance about 50 mm is only at infinity. So if you just focus on a ner distance the flag distance will grow as closer you will focus.
