Came across this small juniper tree while hiking in Canyonlands last week. At first I wasn't that impressed with the tree, but as I looked at it more it reminded me of a bonsai. I decided to photograph it like I would a still life. I framed up the shot and waited for the clouds to drift into to position.

Lovely b & w and an absorbing image to contemplate. Would like to see a print of it.

Wonderful B&W. I like the separation (just enough) between the tree and the distant mountains.

Wow!
Excellent capture. Congrats on waiting for the clouds...... they certainly enhance the image.

Yes, I like that a lot. It's got a nice gentle tone, and it only slowly reveals its location.

Wow, this is nice. Love the framing here. The background is majestic but yet so subtle and does not detract from the overall image. Makes it a really nice complement.

Thanks for the complements everyone. I do plan on printing this one.

I like this one a lot. Well composed and processed. I bet it looks even better as a print.
