Utah is just stunning. I'm the first to jump in a car and drive 5 hours to a national park but this trailhead is a 10 minute drive from my house and about a 2 hour round trip walking over some steep terrain. We have 2 out of 3 of our "kids" home for a visit so we decided to see what the fuss was about. Loved every moment and worth the trip. Great way to pass a Sunday!

I like it!
It's nice to see some water that isn't all milky.

I like all the sprinkling of the water.

…It's nice to see some water that isn't all milky.
Yes, it's a refreshing image and B&W processing conveys some sort of mysterious atmosphere.

This is a great waterfall for the high shutter speed treatment. The widely distributed spray would be not too interesting as a light smoothed out veil. Thanks.

That brought back nice memories of when I was living in Ogden? Where was this taken?
A very nice picture and I echo the praise for not milking the water.

Milky water is nice and pretty. I think there is an international law that requires new photographers to take the obligatory milky water shot. ;) But it is one of those techniques that does not always work depending on the particular waterfall. As evidenced by this shot, some water falls work better with a faster shutter speed.

Thanks for the comments all! This shot was taken in Ogden, 26th street and park at the trailhead on the benches. Great walk

Hey! I just took my obligatory milky waterfall shot :D , it's been raining buckets here and the intermittently flowing streams are "on". A one-foot-wide flow over a rock shelf 8 feet wide with height of 2 feet looks better as streaks or milky flow than as droplets.

I was so sick of waterfall shots that I walked past one last week without getting the camera out of the bag.
This, however, is a brilliant photograph full of drama, I love the hard contrasty processing too.

It's very nice to see a waterfall shot this way...kudos to you! While not knowing your motivation...I think this is a fantastic example of really actually seeing/capturing "the powerful and essential" that is in front of one... rather than perceiving something through the lens of a thousand other preconceptions. /B

I second all the comments about milky water fall. This is extremely great.
