From the trip to AK, this is from the Bird Point along the Seward Highway, looking SSW. I think it is the Kenai mountains, but I am more than likely wrong. Can someone verify?
I am not too happy with this image initially but it starts to grow on me as I am drawn to the shape of the pines that mimic the mountain slopes in the background. What do you guys think?

The mountains and the foreground make pleasing curves. It is not an exciting composition but it does not have to be. Tranquil and pleasing.

Indeed. Adding to your comment, I feel the image could get improvement from sunset/sunrise coloration, but I often ask myself: Does every single landscape picture have to be taken during those hours? This is probably an unconscious attempt to answer that.

It's the name of the body of water, Rob. I guess, it is spelled Turnagain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turnagain_Arm), one word. Allegedly, it is named by Capt Cook when he has to turn his boat again because he can't proceed further inland. Interesting name, eh? :D

What is in the foreground, middle ground, and the background are not that special as subjects and the sum of these parts doesn't really make it much better. It's a reference shot perhaps.
