Broken Hill formation, Torrey Pines State Park.

Very nice and soft landscape! My eyes don't stay much on the dead branch but it's not an issue.

Well done.

The drama in the clouds is amazing. The dead branch is a really good foreground, but I don't think it is the center of attention in this image. At least not for me.
-
The first thing I thought about the dead branch was whether it was placed there intentionally.
-
The dead branch sems a bit contrived but as others have stated, it isn't prominent enough to hold my attention fo rtoo long.
-
The dead tree branch was there when I arrived. Possibly left by another photographer? I should have just kick it away but figured what the heck. :)

Or put some stuffed squirrel on it.

Here is one from a different angle taken a few years back. As you can see the dead tree on top of the hill not long ago was a healthy Torrey Pine. But the long drought in the west along with the hungry Bark Beetle has killed off many of the trees in the park. :(

Me too!

Even better!

I like the branch, it establishes a connection with the bare tree.
