Title: Hockley Valley
Post by: luxborealis on May 23, 2015, 03:22:34 pm
Was out hiking last holiday Monday and shot these during the contrasty hours around mid-day. It was an exploratory hike, so I just brought the 18-35 and the 70-200; no tripod. Here are two; I've posted another under User Critiques (http://forum.luminous-landscape.com/index.php?topic=100589.0).

D800E w/18-35mm @ 18mm; LR6

Trilliums: ƒ8 @ 1/80; ISO400; -1⅓ EV; POL
Into the Light: ƒ11 @ ⅛; ISO100; -1 EV; POL

I prefer the first one, the greens and the flowers say "forest" to me; the second one does not.

I prefer the first one too. It imparts a feeling of cool serenity a forest.
