C&C welcomed

The pleasure and joy of roses is their colour.

Actually it's their scent, but smellography is beyond my abilities

Great to see some B&Ws about such colourful subjects - they are beautiful in B&W! I think I would tone down the use of Clarity (or, at least that's what appears to be used to increase the local contrast). In fact the beauty might just be greater with reduced contrast, allowing tones to flow up and down the scale rather than jump. But that's just my interpretation.

Valid point! My uncle used to grow roses in his front garden. He lived close to a home where blind people resided and received many favourable comments as to the fact that the home's residents would walk past his garden just to smell the roses. Myself, having reasonable sight, still take pleasure in the variety of colours displayed by this flower....
And as an aside, how come you in Somerset, are 7 hours ahead of me, timewise, in Cambridgeshire?

Agree about color and fragrance, but the B/W treatment allows focus (sic) on the beautiful lines and structures in these blossoms. I see Terry's point about local contrast, but then the mood changes completely in my view. Perhaps a contrasting series? :D
Lovely.

Thanks for the comments. I might try fiddling with the local contrast & see how that works out.

The third one is the most luminous and attractive, for me at least.
