Very cooperative bald eagle caught flying over a small pond

Cooperative indeed! A very nice catch Les!

There's a nice sense of the eagle's wing strength in your photo. I like the dynamism. Well done.

Awesome! :)

Superb!

also a sense of the eagle "braking" - did it get a fish? Really nice.

Just WOW
:o

Thank you all for your kind comments, it was a lucky timing.
Nancy, this fellow was just skimming the surface, and flapping his wings as little as possible, just to to keep above water.
Usually, when they see a fish, they would swoop down on an angle (even without getting wet), and if they do land on the water, for the brake effect they raise their wings.
Here is a nice Eagle documentary by NatGeo.

the tip of the wing touching the water is a fantastic detail.

Great moment!

Chris is Jealous he's just keeping it to himself.

Very, very well done. If you're attributing this to some degree to luck, then this may be an example of "the harder you work, the luckier you get."

It's a privilege to watch Our National Symbol, particularly because I remember reading Rachel Carson as a kid, what with the eagle eggshells being softened by DDT.

This. IMHO, it really adds to this image.

Thank you again for all the nice comments.
I was thinking about adding a water lily and a couple of beavers in one of the corners, but after receiving such a great feedback, I'm not going to mess with it.
