Title: 3880 & baryta, round 2
Post by: Greg D on May 10, 2015, 10:23:40 am
Thanks to those who helped with this question:  http://forum.luminous-landscape.com/index.php?topic=100232.0.  My problem was serious rippling on 17x25 prints on Red River's baryta from my Epson 3880.  I thought I'd pinned the problem on the paper.  So I went to make a smaller print (12x18) on the Canson baryta which I've used for many good prints from my old R1900, and guess what?  The print looked like a corrugated tin roof (okay, I exaggerate, but it was rippled just like the 17x25 prints on the Red River paper).  I ran the same print on the same paper through the 1900 and it looked fine.  I'm quite confident I don't have any profile or driver mismatch issues. What could be going on here?

I recommend that you call Epson ProGraphics tech support and discuss the problem with them. They may have seen it before and perhaps have some suggestions.
