Hi guys,

One of the most known lighthouses of Portugal - Cabo Espichel

A very nice image, Bruno.  I like the way the road leads my eyes towards the lighthouse.  The image is fine as b&w!

I am sure someone will quibble with the lighthouse being in the middle of the frame? I am not. francois summed it up nicely.

Agreed, it's a very nice image. Upon examining the larger linked flickr version, the beauty of the processing really becomes apparent. Great depth of field, lots of detail, but very smooth where it should be.

Thank you all!!
I love to put subjects in the middle of the frame, not always works but with the road leading to the lighthouse was impossible to resist.
This DB with "perfect" light is incredible. The files give us lots of space to work without messing up. The lens is also a must!

Thanks again for the support
Cheers

Great image.

At first sight the nearly square format did bring me out of balance but after looking at it for several times I started to like it more and more.

very nice image. It has a lovely balance. One small thing that irks me and it doesn't mean I'm right  ;D but maybe you lightened the lighthouse too much. It looks a little bit off, especially when viewed at 100% in Flickr JMO of course.

Like the image overall and its central approach, well done ! though I kind of agree with Enda's remark about the lighthouse and how bright it is, perhaps a tad much contrast in the SE (right?) processing ?
The big version on Flickr revealed something else besides stunning detail by the way: you need to get that sensor cleaned ! Dustspots all over the place :o
Best Regards, Sander

I love this image and the processing. Square and Centered is something I do quite frequently so I'm also good with that :)

Dust Spots are faint but to the left of the Lighthouse on the medium gray sky.

The only thing I find distracting (and it's not the brightness of the lighthouse itself) is the cables at the left edge of the frame my eye just keeps being drawn to them.
