Title: Surveying Paternoster

I have been pretty busy moving from one side of the country to the other and all that that entails.
We have settled in and were able to go for a drive in our new surroundings for the first time today.

This shot was taken this morning in a small coastal village called Paternoster. I would be keen to know what you think of it.

It has a bit of a New Topographics feel (a compliment). It also works on a semi-abstract level, even in a thumbnail form. The composition works, rather well balanced. Tonalities well placed and controlled. The dog is a nice touch too.

Without the dog I think it would be a bit boring. The dog's pose elevates the image considerably, IMHO.

I agree that the dog makes the shot. I wonder if you could extract just a bit more detail from the wall.

I was hoping for an image of a continuous lift (elevator), though. I have fond memories of those, and of the practical jokes that could be played in them.

Great design to this. The dog warms the scene from stark and angular to contemplative.
