Title: Anhinga Blues
Post by: Chris Calohan on December 21, 2014, 10:04:47 am
A fresh-water bird who must dry his wings periodically to avoid literally drowning from the weight of the water on his wings. This is a male Anhinga, black body and head whereas the female is predominately brown.

Lovely shot, Chris.
How do you get so close without spooking him?

Thanks, Eric. Long Lens...and when they are in drying mode, they are less likely to flinch.

Plumage is incredible, especially below the neck.
Nice job again!

Impressive detail, like how he sorta tilts and fits the composition so nicely :)
