In Mjóifjörður, Eastfjords of Iceland. More in my blog post (http://www.parrikar.com/blog/2014/11/15/girl-horse-fjord/).

The second one, with the horse & rider in a landscape context - I like that one. Very nice
-
The horse and rider give a great sense of scale to the landscape and put a nice finishing touch on the image.
-
Indeed I also prefer #2. Would like to have a bit more of sky above the mountains, to feel less constrained.
-
Photo #2 for me too and I also like the portrait (image is in Rajan's blog).

Barefoot? In Iceland? In November???
Your suffering again brings us nice rewards. The second one is my favorite, too.

Rajan is trying to improve his fakir skills :D

Thank you, all.
Eric - this was taken in late September. In Winter Mjóifjörður is inaccessible and the way out is by boat to the neighbouring Seyðisfjörður.
-
Cooperative pony there - no halter or bridle. No saddle, either, but I can tell you that when the weather gets really cold, it is nicer to ride bareback and share the warmth.

Nancy,
Some Icelanders may take umbrage at your calling the Icelandic Horse (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icelandic_horse) a pony. :-)

Yes, a fine portrait.
