Title: Presets storage location affects Lr performances?

I am experimenting different HD and SW arrangements trying to speed-up LR which I find annoying slow during browsing and I got the impression that only moving the presets from the user library to the catalog the browsing speed is noticeably improved. Does it make sense?
The slow browsing I suffer is pretty much the same on all my machines MBP 17", MBP Retina and Mac Pro 2013 and does not even improve moving the catalog into fast drives (including the internal SSD's).
Any idea/suggestion will be very much appreciated.

Update.
The presets in the catalog and in the application library were out of sync and the reason for the different speed was not the location of the presets but the number of presets  (much less presets were stored in the  catalog). Now it seems more reasonable.
