Title: Gorgeous green dragonfly
Post by: PeterAit on August 23, 2014, 04:50:15 pm

Taken with Olympus E-M1 and Olympus 50mm f/2 macro at the North Carolina coast. I have not yet identified the species.

Looks like an Eastern Pondhawk (Erythemis simplicicollis), female.

Voracious predators (often seen eating other dragonflies their own size).
