Title: Cheap OBA-Free Photo Paper

I mostly print artwork reproductions on canvas.

I often make a proof on Breathing Color Vibrance Gloss (regular RC Glossy Photo) first.  But, it has OBA's in it, and most of the canvas I use doesn't have OBA's.  I want to be able to compare colors at night without having daylight and nighttime profiles.

I'd like to switch to a different RC photo paper for these proofs, that was OBA-free.

I want to stick with inexpensive ones... like $68 for a 17x100, $96 for a 24x100.  Non-textured is preferred.  Decent gamut is important, because I usually use glossy canvas, so probably need a gloss photo paper.

Don't care about thickness, don't care if it's archival... They're "throw-away" proofs.

Anyone know of any possibilities?  Only ones I've ran across are the Baryta glosses, but those are more expensive for 40' rolls rather than 100' ones.

I doubt that you could find an OBA-free RC paper. I use a proofing paper from EFI, 9200, for the same purpose. It has some OBA:s, but very little compared to the paper that you are using.

Correct, several RC proofing papers have little or no OBA content. Epson Proofing White Semi Matte for example. Price may be an issue. Check the RC papers in SpectrumViz.

Hi Stephan,
I have similar needs and was looking for a paper to proof on using my HP z printers. I print on canvas after proofing, and I print large.

Can you supply the full information for the paper you are recommending including a supplier?

The paper I use is distributed by EFI, made by Tecco, and the full name is Offset Proof Paper 9200 Semimatt. I don't know where you are, so can't recommend a supplier. I think you could find a similar paper from GMG or Epson.
