Got a used Sony A6000 as a second cam along my Canon full frame. The more I dive in to the possibilities of the little A6000 the more I like it.
BH and Gary Fong have a quite long video, setting up the function menu and the custom key settings begins at aroung 1:11

Love mine since I got it two or three months ago. Absolutely no complaints except for the battery life coming from my Nikon d5200. Once I got the custom keys and the memory recalls set it's a dream and very intuitive for me.

I love mine. It feels like a total mature fully functional and ergonomic camera because that's what it is. My only complain is the loud shutter. In a dslr it would not bother me but in a mirrorless camera this small is a no no.

I've been reading lens reviews and see some very mixed results with some of them and a lot of talk of 'de-centering' and better or worse examples of the same lens.
Without spending DSLR money, what's the pick of the prime lenses ?

Definitely a camera I looked into, but that lens lineup is a real turnoff. What are your thoughts?

Sony 35/1.8 OSS, Sony 50/1.8 OSS
If you don't need the speed and OSS, Sigma's 19/30/60 at f/2.8 are good to great, the Sony 20/2.8 is not worth it over the Sigma 19/2.8 unless you really need the pancake.
Most of the other primes are very pricey like the Zeisses, or not particularly good like the 16/2.8.
If you don't mind manual focus, try the Rokinon/Samyangs like the 12mm/2 and 85/1.4 and try old legacy glass on adapters which can be VERY good

i love everything about the A6000 (i bought one for my wife to replace her NEX F3). i end up playing around with it more than my wife. ;D
but.... two things do annoy me abit:
1) shutter sound...it;s a APSC camera, why does it have to be so loud... sony, if you are reading this, please buy yourself a fuji and take its internal as your next start point....
2) im not 100% sure, but... i feel the AA/low pass filter does do something to the final image to stop the 3D pop. I use Zeiss 85mm F1.8 ZF.2 on my fuji XE1 and A6000, and i do feel some how the A6000 image isnt quite as sharp.
