How much ram can Adobe Photoshop CS 5 use?

What OS? 32 bit or 64 bit?

Both Mac and Windows 64 bit OS's allow 64 bit apps to access as much ram that's on the motherboard. It's usually the motherboard that limits the installed ram. But, in general the following applies: 232 gives you ~4GB. So 264 would give you 16 exabytes.

.....but if you are using a 32-bit OS, then all applications will be limited to the RAM that the OS can address - normally 3.2Gb (although often misquoted as 4Gb)
