There are approx 145 wineries in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. The longest amount of daylight in the year is right now. Fortunately most of these wineries are close together. I have a wild hair of any idea to do a book for my family and friends that would include pictures of all of the wineries in a 24 hour period. The book title would reflect that 24 hour period. I am wanting to know if there is another photographer here crazy enough to entertain this idea. I am by no means a professional just a decent hobbyist (www.thecolorblindphotographer.net). Yes I have done the math and yes it is possible if you start before dawn and end at dusk.
If this has any appeal to someone that lives in the Northwest please let me know. If not I promise I understand.
Looney but ambitious in Portland.

Have you seen the traffic in Newberg/Dundee? Pretty ambitious undertaking IMHO.
I thought I was doing good to hit 5-10 wineries in a day doing tastings on a weekend. Couldn't imagine trying to hit them all.

that's less than 10 min per winery (assuming full 24 hours) - 7 min if you want at least some light. not so far apart as the crow flies, a lot of little twisty roads to some of them. some are also gated and/or not open to the public
even with careful planning and pre-driving I don't think you can do them all - but have fun (and be careful) trying

Always have a designated driver!
Who knows, you might end up with a contact high from the wine fumes!! :o
How about photos of one winery over 24 hours?

How about one a day (or every other day) over the course of a year? Tell a story, spend more time at each location and get a shot that shows something unique, meet the owner and do a portrait, show the passing of seasons... would give a real feel for the overall area and industry. Much more interesting than a hurried hectic day with a bunch of so-so snapshots.

You buy the wine, and I'm there! :)
