Title: SOLVED: C2014 does not open Raw from LR 5.5

Greetings,

On Mavericks 9.3, I am on a trial for both PS and LR, I updated LR to 5.5 and PS to CC2014. Then used the uninstaller to get rid of PS CC.

Under preferences in Lightroom external editor its states correctly Photoshop CC2014.

However, when in LR and I want to edit a RAW file in CC2014, it opens the app, but shows no picture.

Puzzled as how to solve this.  :) Nayone have an idea what I can do to fix this?

You're not alone.  It worked fine for me, but others have had problems, too.  See other threads here (e.g. the Lightroom forum), also various posts on https://forums.adobe.com/community/lightroom (https://forums.adobe.com/community/lightroom) and http://www.dpreview.com/forums (http://www.dpreview.com/forums) Retouching forum.

General consensus seems to be that you might need to reinstall LR or Photoshop.  Some have suggested removing LR and reinstalling from the normal download (not the CC installer) - see http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2014/06/lightroom-5-5-now-available.html (http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2014/06/lightroom-5-5-now-available.html) for download links. 

Apparently response from Adobe has been yes, we can recreate that problem and we're working on it.

Ok, Thanks for the heads up Simon. Glad to hear it is no me alone.  ;D

FWIW, I just ran repair permissions, but this did not solve it.

Sounds like folks should wait for this to be fixed before adopting the "up-grades". One may be entitled to think basic stuff like this would have been thoroughly tested before the apps shipped - unless it is a very arcane problem only affecting certain set-ups beyond the range of normal testing procedures.

Just to report back:

I left my LR 5.5 Installation and uninstalled CC2014 without removing preferences. Then reinstalled from CC, now it works as expected.
