Title: Multiple lightining strike photos

I'm seeing more and more multiple lightning strike photos. Do you think the lightning is photoshopped in as a composite?

Hi,

It's possible, but it could also be multiple exposures over a longer period, blended together. I used to do that with fireworks, multiple layers with 'Lighter' blending mode.

Or you can just keep the shutter open until you get several strikes... not so uncommon.

You can also easily merge several exposures together as long as you don't move the camera, (you can do also if you move the camera but it's a bit tricker).  I love to setup at night when storm is blowing in especially if there is some moonlight to help illuminate the scene.  The results can be very impressive.  I just use the blub mode and then hold the shutter open to catch as many strikes as I can.
