I have an image that was taken last year and has gotten accepted by a National Juried show. I now want to enter it in another show, which will only accept smaller prints. Ok, so I print smaller, right?
Problem is, when I go to print it, my blacks want to show up purple. I have only changed the size of the image, nothing else, but I am getting purple blacks. I have plenty of ink, and ran a nozzle check without any problem.
Any ideas would be much appreciated, as I would hate to have to get my local shop to print something I normally do

Don't know if you have Qimage Ultimate, but if you do you can apply more yellow to the black easily in the "+Curves" tab in the Editor window.
Select the Curve = RGB and change it to RED. In the "Out" box (below, and to the right), change from 0 to 10 which will apply more red ink to the dark blacks. Do the same for the Curve = Green since the Green+Red=Yellow. So now you have a bit more yellow ink applied to the purplish black ink which should be neutralized now.
You might need to drop the Editor's "Brightness" down a couple of points and "Contrast" up a bit doing so too.

What printer, OS? You just printed the bigger sized image and now the smaller image prints different?

I want to hear the answer for this one. I printed an image that was upsampled in camera Raw. From 8.2 MP to 24.6 MP
The original image had been printed using my own profile.
When the upsampled image was printed I got a blue cast all over.
The rendering intent, paper profile, media and all print settings where the same.
Does upsampling or downsampling cause color shifts if the change in file size is considerable as in my case or the OP?

Shouldn’t.

OS is Mountain lion, printer is Epson 3800. Printer driver is Quadtone Rip. I have used this driver for years, no prob.

Never experienced this in 24 years of Photoshop. I have to wonder if something else is happening but, without the image in question, how can we even test?

Bypass Quadtone RIP, print in Photoshop. What happens?

that did it- printed from LR, but used the Epson driver. I will contact Roy Harrington about the blue business.

I first of all printed another image (intended for this new show) on LR using the epson driver, came out just fine. I adjusted the gamma to 2.2 for that image.
The one I first wrote about still has some issues even with the 3800 driver, but I think I can manage to correct that.

turns out it was a clogged nozzle. I missed it in the nozzle check printout, which on further examination, showed maybe 3 or so white spots - just goes to show you can see a lot by looking. (Yogi Berra said that)
