Title: Printing a 1MB File

A friend sent me an image that he wants me to print at 16x24. It is .244x.317 @1800 dpi. Is there any way to make a good looking 16x24 out of it?

I don't think so, not from a 1mb file.  You might get a 4 x 6 or 5x7.  Interpolation can only go so far.  I should also say, it depends on the image and what it has.  If it has a lot of detail, then no.

Why don't you print a test strip of the file to show to your friend. "Good looking" is subjective and it may be that it's acceptable for their need or want. Other than that possibility, 1MB is no where near good enough for that size print if any semblance of quality is hoped for.
