Title: Driftwood
Post by: Chris Calohan on August 10, 2013, 10:29:22 pm
We've had 41 straight days of rain...I'm going bonkers. Does it show?

Not sure it is translating like it is on flickr

This works for me better than the beach tree. I do wonder how it would look a bit lighter.

Too murky for me - not enough contrast. It should be all about black and white and all the tones in between. Sorry.

Most times I would agree wholeheartedly with you...but not always. This shot is terribly boring in a "normal range." I look at a shot like this more along the lines of abstraction rather than "purist" photography.

In the center of the picture is a piece of wood which looks like a snake's head. There's nothing anymore in the picture which could draw my attention away from that detail. :-\

just a couple amateur ideas - try a strong vignette to help focus in, clone out the small vertical stick that is in the background. Do you have a series of these ? might work as a triptych ?
