I found myself incredibly bored of holding strips up to to my screen tonight, and lining up the frame spaces in my scanning tray with very little ambient (it's 4am - I have to be considerate) and SFA in the way of backlighting which was.. well.. bothersome. So I made a webpage that could serve as a lightbox (complete with dimmer!) instead of paying $2.99 for the app.

Aside: how beneficial would adding control over color temp be?

Excellent idea!
Although not nearly as bright as my little 4x5 handheld Cabin, it will work in a pinch. The temperature could certainly use an adjustment control ;D

I posted the link over on reddit for a tad more feedback - someone pointed out that on standard/low res screens, use of a loupe would result in a visible pixel grid. That said, on 'retina' displays, this does not appear to be an issue.

So that's fun.

Working on the temperature control now. Would direct input be preferable to a slider? Or would 9 or so 'common' values be fine?
