Title: Canon 8300 "Blue Platen Switch is dirty. Please clean the switch"
Post by: Photopro888 on May 20, 2012, 12:22:53 am
I saw a post here (that just mentioned this) awhile back... was there a solution? I have contacted Canon about this and it looks like it's heading towards a service visit.

I can still print fine it's just a little annoying to deal with this message; so I'm not sure I want them messing with my printer!

Any info would be great! Thanks,

Darren

I'm also getting this message periodically on my 2 month old 8300.  It is a nuisance, but does not effect printing in any way so I'm choosing to ignore it rather than pressing for a service call. Perhaps there with be a firmware update at some point to correct the issue.
