I am kindof interested in doing something crazy and buying some kind of ultra large format camera, I was thinking either 11x17, 8x20, 12x20 or 14x17, I have never really been able to find a terribly in depth review of any of these cameras. However, I have used view cameras, and I understand that these are larger, heavier in that sense. What I don't understand is the following: where do you get the film? I was reading on the Canham website, which seems to be the best (correct me if I am wrong please) company for ULF cameras, and I saw they sell ULF films from Kodak, however it seems they are involved in co-ops, which seems like you just have to wait until there are enough orders to pay the price you need to pay kodak for them to make a batch of a custom size. Firstly, I was wondering, is there anyone who simply stocks this film where you can buy it immediately? and if so which format is the most widely available? or simply most available, since widely is a stretch within this market....also where can you get such sizes developed still?
on the Canham website they also list E100G as a film choice, but is there anyone who is going to process E-6 that big still? thanks for the help.

You're probably better off asking film-related questions over at http://www.apug.org/forums/home.php

Hahah, very true... it's not an inexpensive option. I guess if you've already got Leica, Hasselblad, and a IQ180, why not?
I don't think there are any easy sources for film. I'd read up at www.largeformatphotography.info/forum for other options.

I also recommend that you go and hang out at http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/
As far as film is concerned, you can get B&W Ultra Large Format film in a pretty good selection of sizes at: http://www.freestylephoto.biz/c40-Black-and-White-Film
Badger Graphic also has B&W and color film up to 8x10: http://www.badgergraphic.com/
Midwest Photo Exchange has various sizes to choose from in both B&W and color: http://mpex.com/film-cameras/film/large-format.html

Not for much longer, I reckon. Kodak recently announced that they will stop producing ALL E6 film (http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?87838-Kodak-discontinue-E6-films). Very sad!

See also It's LF Film Open Season Again (http://theonlinephotographer.typepad.com/the_online_photographer/2012/04/its-lf-film-open-season-again.html):
Once again this year, Harman Technology is offering an open order window for ultralarge and other non-stock sizes of Ilford sheet film. These sizes are available at other times as well, but only to special order with a very substantial minimum—generally a few thousand dollars' worth. During the brief open season Harman will accept orders of any quantity, and commits to cutting all sizes ordered, even if only a single box in a given size.

Maybe its time again to create our own emulsions on glass plate ....
